Wanaka

with no doubt one of the coolest towns i've been in here. quite small, but i arrived to it after the even smaller Franz Josef, so it seemed like a big town again. the way to wanaka was really beautiful - and we spotted some really great views along the way...

and in wanaka, they have this cinema, if you have been to NZ you probably heard of it: "Cinema Paradiso", but if you hadn't (and i know most of you hadn't) here's a short description: (and it's the first place so far i regret for not having my camera on...):
when most of us think of a cinema, we think of long rows of chairs, numbered seats and popcorn. when they thought of a cinema (and that's one of the reasons wanaka is so cool) - they thought about old sofas and even an old car (in case you miss the feeling of a drive in movie)! in the middle of the movie - during the break they make fresh cookies (that you can smell from the inside just 10 minutes before). amazing! - although in some cases in reminded me of sitting and watching a movie at a friend's house during high-school, while his mom is making cookies (well, who am i kidding - non of my friends moms made any cookies...). if any of you out there is looking for a new cinema to build (and i know most of you aren't) - that should be how you build it...

the second cool thing here is Puzzeling World - and it's also the second place so far i regret for not having my camera (i just never learn...). a maze which took me about an hour to solve (by foot - you think extra hard if you need to walk the maze (o walked approx 4 km) and not just to draw the line). also have some great rooms of illusions that will really bend your mind to the wrong directions...

last thing i did in wanaka was climbing Roy's Peak (pictures will follow) - instead of walking the Rob Roy as planned. a day's climb through sheeps and grass for one of the most amazing views. then the way down again - through the same sheeps but a little less grass. they sure can eat a-lot those sheeps!
that concluded my days in wanaka... coming up - Queenstown

p.s. i registered the sky-dive for a second time - but got cancelled again, the wind just follows me everywhere!

as usual:

Roy's Peak view - Amazing!

Roy's Peak Sheeps - Amazing!
just before wanaka - relaxing on the beach...

and the views i saw while driving:

(dumb dog: throw a stick to him - and he'll keep it! well, maybe not so dumb...)

(just a view from the road) (a completly hidden waterfall, recognized only by the sign "Waterfall" 5 meters away)
(Melina, splitted in wanaka - and met again randomaly in queenstown)
